Attain Inner Freedom: Breathe, witness beauty, listen and appreciate life more!
To discover what makes you happy, think of a time when minutes flew by, when you were engrossed in a project, a hobby, a game.
Perhaps it was building, planning, organizing, sorting, teaching, where there was no judgment, no criticism, no-one to tell you it was right or wrong.
You were just enjoying the moments and it felt like all was as it should be. Your heart beat without any effort and all other body functions continued as well; without any input from you. Your breathing regulated and your stress level was eliminated. This is called being in ‘the zone’. It is a state of ‘thoughtless awareness’, where the exact thing you are focused on is the only important thing at that moment It is a very healthy place to be, serene, peaceful, kind and loving It gives you a sense of accomplishment, satisfaction and oneness with your true self. Aspire to return to this place as often as possible and you will be more and more at peace with the world at large, because your outer world is a reflection of your inner world.
You can attain this state of Inner Peace any time you wish by consciously shutting out the noise of the world and getting more involved with what makes you happy, which gives you an increased feeling of joy and ultimately leads to personal inner freedom.
And… take part in this mindfulness exercise; (no effort is required)
Just be where you are, take a deep breath
Take in the partnership of the person you are with
Friend, lover, acquaintance, or be happy with yourself.
Listen intently, one hundred percent, just listen to anything, to nothing.
Observe the sky, the clouds and the rolling motion
Ever constantly changing, evolving, and still so free
Enjoy the sunrise or the sunset and feel the breeze or the stillness of air
Feel the sensation of wind on your skin, your face
Breathe in the air, warm, hot, cool, crisp
Witness waves in action, so controlled, yet free to come and go
Watch tree branches in the breeze, tipping the leaves back and forth
Appreciate the many different colors of green in a tree
In a forest, in a whole landscape
Notice the bird’s activities, flying, bathing, chirping
Watch the squirrels scurrying to gather nuts and seeds, playing tag
See the autumn leaves beginning to change
Wonder how it is that you missed it all before
Come back to the current moment again, take another deep breath
Slow your movements down, notice people hurry by
Be mindful if they smile back when you share your smile
Open mindedly release it all as just a moment in time
Simplify your life, then; each and every moment becomes even larger
Take another deep breath and start this over again…
